June 17, 1985, launch of the Discovery STS 51G shuttle from Cape Canaveral 39A with American astronauts Daniel Brandenstein, John Creighton, Shannon Lucid, John Fabian, Steve Nagel, Frenchman Patrick Baudry and Su Salman Al Saud from Saudi Arabia.

During the deployment of four satellites: Arabsat 1B, Morelos 1, Telstar 3D and a Spartan 1 astronomical satellite recovered 48 hours after launch. Baudry’s mission was based on observation of the cardiovascular system via ultrasound using an ultrasound scan done at Tours. The experiment was conducted on female astronaut Shannon Lucid, on Al Saoud and Baudry himself. Conducting a bunch of science experiments Back on June 24, 1985 at Edwards Base in California for a 7 day 1 hour 38 minute flight and 112 Earth orbits. For the first time, there were three nationalities aboard a spacecraft and Patrick Baudry is the first Frenchman to travel aboard the American shuttle.
