Katrin Raynor-Evans will show Exploring Astronomy and Space through Philately
An introduction to the topic of astronomy and space celebrated through philately, including the world’s first astronomy stamps, the global spread of astronomy on stamps and astronomy/space discoveries and achievements that have appeared on philatelic material.
Katrin is a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and Royal Geographical Society, Features Editor of Popular Astronomy and a contributor to BBC Sky at Night.

Korea Post issued a set of stamps showing the “Geostationary Korea Multi Purpose Satellite GEO-KOMPSAT”, also named the “Cheollian”. The KOMPSAT or Korean Multi-Purpose Satellite is a series of South Korean multipurpose satellite for reconnaissance, communication, meteorological, environmental, agricultural and oceanographic monitoring applications.

Blue Origin launched first crew mission aboard a New Shepard rocket at 8:11 a.m. CDT (9:11 a.m. EDT; 13:11 GMT) Tuesday from the company’s privately-owned spaceport north of Van Horn, Texas. Billionaire Jeff Bezos, Blue Origin’s founder, joined his brother Mark Bezos, aviation pioneer Wally Funk, and Dutch student Oliver Daemen for the successful l10-minute flight to suborbital space.
